Congrats to our Junior Club Champions of 2026 Tadhg Whelan & Alexis Marshman

Tadhg Whelan

Tadhg has continued to impress at every level of basketball he has played. After earning MVP honours in our Under 18 Championship team last season, he stepped up to Championship Men’s competition where he quickly established himself as one of the league’s leading scorers.

His strong form has continued throughout this winter’s Championship season, where he represented an Irish Under 18 team through his dual Australian and Irish citizenship.

Tadhg’s commitment, talent and achievements make him a deserving recipient of this year’s Junior Boys Champion award.

Alexis Marshman

Alexis has enjoyed another outstanding season both within and beyond the Lara Giants program. After being named MVP of our Under 16 Championship team last season, she has successfully transitioned into our Division 1 Women’s team, where she has quickly become one of the squad’s key contributors.

Her development has also been recognised at state level through her selection in Basketball Victoria’s State Development Program and her representation of the Geelong Hub in the SDP Tournament.

Alexis’ dedication, work ethic and on-court performances make her a worthy recipient of this year’s Junior Girls Champion award.
